Info About Central Coast Hockey

Norah Head Panthers were one of the pioneers behind the formation of Central Coast Hockey Association. Founded in 2015 CCHA has grown to incorporate 2 water based synthetic grass fields, one training field and the associated facilities.

CCHA is represented by the Pelican, paying homage to the flourishing pelican population across the coast.

Central Coast Hockey supports regular winter hockey, summer hockey and indoor hockey along with the various representative affiliations throughout NSW.

Plans are in place to continue to grow and develop Central Coast Hockey Park including upgraded clubhouse, canteen, club facilities and a localised indoor stadium.

We encourage parents, friends, and family to support the Panthers by congregating near or around the Norah Head Shelter, located closest to the main gate in between the 2 fields. The shelter is also considered a meeting place for players both before and after the games.

Fields are named; Elaine Johnson field (abbv to EJ), the western most field, and, the Garry Dennison field (abbv to GD).

EJ Field: Entry to EJ is via the main gate and then in front of the clubhouse. Players are encouraged to walk around the exterior of the field in order to make their way to the dugout on the opposite side of the field.

GD Field: Entry to the area is via the eastern most gate

Why are there grates with water in front of the field gates?

Water in front of sports fields with artificial turf is common to assist with keeping dirt and mud off the field. A few steps in the shallow puddle is usually enough to give the bottom of your shoes a satisfactory clean prior to entry to the field.
